This policy explains what personal data Kakiout ("we") collects when you use Kakiout, why, and the choices you have. We follow Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).
Summary
- You can browse Kakiout without an account. We do not ask visitors for personal data.
- We use only the cookies needed to run the site securely. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- We do not sell personal data.
What we collect
When you browse. Our servers record standard technical logs: IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. We use these logs to keep the site secure, fix errors and understand overall traffic. Logs are deleted after 30 days unless needed to investigate abuse.
Cookies. The site sets a session cookie and a security (CSRF) token cookie. Both are strictly necessary for the site to work and expire when you close your browser or after a short period. Your language choice is part of the page address, not a cookie.
When you contact us. If you email us, we keep your name, email address and message so we can reply and keep a record of corrections or removal requests.
Editors. People with access to the editing tools have an account (name, email address, password stored as a one-way hash).
People named in event listings. Event pages name performers, speakers and organisers as published by the organisers. Information about them comes from public sources, which each page cites.
How we use it
To operate and secure the site, respond to enquiries, correct listings, handle image and content removal requests, and meet legal obligations.
Sharing
We share personal data only with service providers that host and operate the site for us (for example our hosting and email providers), under contracts that protect it, or when the law requires it. Links on our pages lead to other sites, such as ticketing platforms and maps, which have their own privacy policies.
Overseas transfers
Our service providers may store data outside Singapore. Where they do, we require protection comparable to the PDPA.
Your rights
You can ask us for access to, or correction of, personal data we hold about you, and withdraw consent for its use. Email [email protected] and we will reply within 30 days.
Changes
We will post any changes on this page and update the date above.
