Exceptional/Everyday: New Acquisitions, New Perspectives

The exhibition showcases recently acquired objects, from luxury items to everyday goods, and considers how Peranakan communities in Southeast Asian port cities adapted global goods and made their own items. It is in the Special Exhibitions Gallery, with an Activity Space in the Family and Community Life Gallery on Level 2 featuring a Design Desk, Portrait Studio, Creativity Collection and Play Zone. Special exhibition tickets are S$6 for Singaporeans and PRs and S$18 for foreign residents and tourists; concession rates are not listed. Tickets are sold through the museum's online ticketing site. Curator-led tours with Naomi Wang cost S$25 including exhibition admission, on Wednesdays at 7:30pm on 25 November 2026, 24 February 2027 and 28 July 2027 (the page also lists a 26 May date with the wrong year).
