Overview

The Grass That Flowers is a 50-minute children's dance production by The Arts Fission Company at the Drama Centre Black Box from 11 to 14 November 2026. It turns the marine science of seagrass meadows into a story of sea spirits, performed by professional dancers and child performers (Arts House Group, accessed 8 Nov 2026).

What to expect

The show presents familiar sea creatures as magical water spirits, among them mischievous sea gremlins and an eight-armed weaver god who knits seagrass blankets for young fish. When human disruption upsets the meadow, the deities must unite to save their community, translating ideas such as conservation and ecosystems into something children can follow (Arts House Group, accessed 8 Nov 2026)

Tickets start from S$24 via SISTIC. Rated General. Infants in arms and children under 2 are not admitted; children aged 3 and above need a ticket. Tickets are non-refundable and seating is on the floor (no seats are provided) (Arts House Group, accessed 8 Nov 2026)
